Electronic Technician

Electronics Technicians/Electricians maintains and repairs the electronic equipment used in manufacturing facilities, such as PC-based controllers, air conditioning and heating systems, boilers, and conveyors. They may install and maintain wiring, control, and lighting systems.

Electromechanical Technology-Electronic Technician

This includes a technical certificate and a two-year Associate of Applied Science degree. There is also a one-year career certificate option. The Electro-mechanical associate of applied science degree prepares graduates to enter the job market in many different areas or continue their education at a 4-year institution. Students receive basic instruction in a wide variety of areas including safety, machinery maintenance and troubleshooting/service, blueprint reading, basic machining, fundamentals of industrial electricity, CAD, fluid power, Industrial Controls and PLC programming.

Pre-requisites required:
Applicants must apply for East Mississippi admission and be accepted. This program requires an ACT Score of 16 Composite and 19 Math as well as a Silver Certificate on the Work keys exam. A passing score of 55% on the BMCT (Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test) is also required.

Length of Program
This program offers a one-year vocational certificate option, a technical certificate (see Advisor or Navigator for requirements), and a two-year Associate of Applied Science degree option
