TRAINING CENTER PROGRAMS
The Electrical Technology program prepares individuals to install, operate, maintain, and repair electrically energized systems such as residential, commercial, and industrial electrical wiring; DC and AC motors and controls; and electrical distribution panels. Instruction in the use of test equipment and meters is included. Safety training is an integral part of the instructional program.
Example of Class Types
ELT 1233 - Fundamentals of Electricity, Construction, and Manufacturing: This course is designed to introduce students to the fundamental skills associated with all electrical courses. Safety, basic tools, special tools, equipment, and an introduction to simple AC and DC circuits will be included. ELT 1143 - AC and DC Circuits for Electrical Technology: Principles and theories associated with AC and DC circuits used in the electrical trades. Includes the study of electrical circuits, laws, and formulas, and the use of test equipment to analyze AC and DC circuits. ELT 1253 - Branch Circuit and Service Entrance Calculations: The course is designed to teach students the calculations of circuit sizes for all branch circuits and service entrances in all electrical installation. Proper use of the National Electrical Code ® will be required. ELT 1133 - Applications of the National Electrical Code: The course is designed to place emphasis on developing the students ability to locate, interpret and properly apply information in the National Electrical Code in real-world applications. ELT 1273 - Switching Circuits for Residential, Commercial, and Industrial Applications: This course provides an introduction to various methods by which switches and control devices are installed. It includes installation and operation of residential/commercial automation systems. |
