Sonographers are diagnostic imaging professionals who use special imaging equipment that directs high frequency sound waves into a patient’s body. Today, most sonographers work in hospitals. However, there are other employment options including physicians’ offices, medical clinics, OB/GYN clinics and diagnostic imaging centers. Employment is expected to grow by 28% through 2020, which means you can expect plenty of job opportunities.
Employers typically require an associate or bachelor’s degree, or a 1-year certificate program. Learn more about the Mississippi schools that offer training in sonography today.
